FOYER

Privacy

Effective September 4, 2026 · Applies to the Foyer app and this website

Foyer has no account, ads, or behavioral tracking.

The app

Foyer's mixer and audio engine run on your device, on Mac and iPhone alike. It has no account system, advertising, or behavioral analytics. All sounds are bundled with the app, so core playback works offline.

Your rooms and settings are stored locally. If you enable iCloud sync, Apple moves them through your private iCloud account so they are available on your devices. Foyer does not send room contents or listening activity to us or RevenueCat.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is purchased through Apple's StoreKit, coordinated by RevenueCat. Apple processes the payment. RevenueCat receives a random anonymous App User ID and App Store purchase and receipt history to validate purchases, restore access, report revenue, and determine whether the unlock entitlement is active.

Foyer does not send RevenueCat your name, email, room contents, listening activity, or payment-card details. Purchase data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Apple's privacy policy and RevenueCat's privacy policy govern their processing.

This website

This site uses PostHog in cookieless mode to understand which pages and features are useful. We collect page views, page leaves, and a short list of named interactions such as App Store clicks, starting a sound, or starting the pomodoro timer. Autocapture, session recording, person profiles, and feature-flag requests are disabled.

PostHog sets no cookies and uses no local or session storage for this site. It processes the page URL, referrer, browser and device type, and technical request data such as the IP address. It creates a privacy-preserving hash on its servers instead of a persistent browser identifier. We do not use this data to identify you or follow you across sites.

Analytics requests pass through the first-party /embers path to PostHog's EU service. Cloudflare also sees technical request data needed to deliver the site. See PostHog's privacy policy for its processing terms.

We label each page visit by its referring site or campaign category and note whether a sound preview played before an App Store click. These labels stay in memory for that page only. They do not follow you through later page visits. Our App Store links contain shared campaign labels, such as search or website, so Apple can report aggregate downloads. These links contain no personal identifier or search query.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and describe the change plainly.
